First Look Metro Catholic Conference 10/25/2020
Last night, I posted rankings of all the conferences in the St. Louis area and the Metro Catholic conference was the highest ranked by far. It is understandable that the Metro Catholic would be elite. The five teams are preferred private catholic schools that are steeped in basketball tradition. These schools are a stepping stone to a college and professional playing career. Do you know of any aspiring young player that wouldn't jump at the chance to play for CBC, Chaminade or De Smet right now?
With Caleb Love, CBC's top player and conference MVP gone to North Carolina, CBC will probably not be the favorite. De Smet, a young team that has played second fiddle to the Cadets and Chaminade Red Devils for the last few years, will find itself in the drivers seat. The rest of the conference could be anybody's guess. Here's my prognostication for conference finish and the evaluation of returnees (below):
1. De Smet
2. CBC
3. Chaminade
4. Vianney
5. SLUH
