Revisiting Boys Classes One, Two and Three March 11th, 2021
Ratings are dynamic and fluid. After the Class two semi-finals, I went back to look at the two finalists, Campbell and Salisbury and I have to give the nod to Campbell over Salisbury by seven tomorrow.
I looked at the opponent's strength of schedule and point differential. Both teams played an average opponent strength of 94 but Campbell (24-4) outscored opponents by 24 points while Salisbury (23-2) was only 12 better on average. Campbell's four losses were to Sikeston, Cape Norte Dame, Scott City, and Charleston, all good high-classification teams. Salisbury lost to Harrisburg and NE Cairo, both good class two teams. Salisbury did have an impressive 22 point win over North Andrew, who I had picked to be a finalist.
Sbould be a great class two final.
Here's what the class one, two and three games look like tomorrow.
