All Classes Missouri Boy's Basketball Ratings -Week of February 8th, 2021

If you have not noticed, I added a new logo to my blog and Twitter page.  The impetus for the logo came from my statistical buddy in crime, Tim Hacala, who keeps statistics for the Marquette Mustang boys team.  Tim and I watched and gathered game stats for the Larry Hughes 15U and 16U teams a couple of years ago.  Tim used the Game Changer app while I was still using paper and pencil on a shot chart.  I found a BreakThrough statistics program and have been scoring LHBA and Eureka frosh, JV, and varsity games ever since.

Tim has been a constant headache for Gateway Sports Venue, tweeting about Marquette's ranking in their boy's St. Louis rankings.  I probably have gotten in their head with my ratings too, to the point where they asked me if I have even seen a game this year.  Of course, with live streaming, I have watched a lot of games but I have not attended ONE single game due to the pandemic.  I score all the Eureka games by live streaming and my ratings are based upon game scores, not watching and evaluating the talent of players on each team.  I don't need to know anything about basketball.  I am a statistician and my ratings are mathematically based.

When GSV announced a new logo this week, Tim tweeted out that I should have a logo too.  I think Tim was just trying to tweak GSV again, but I was not going there.  I respect what GSV is doing.  I do not always agree with their basketball ratings but their subjective ratings are miles ahead of the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association or the MaxPreps "mathematical" ratings.  I like the services that @PrepHoopsMissouri@STLhssports@stlprepsports1, @GSV_STL, @810Varsity, @ScoreboardGuy, and a whole lot of other people do in promoting high school athletics.

So back to my logo.  I don't really need a logo, but I am getting more exposure with the Boys and Girls Top 20 basketball ratings that Chad Rader is posting over at @810Varsity or Missouri State Rankings (810varsity.com)  So why not?  A logo would be cool, right?

So you will see the logo at the top of my blog and in place of my ugly face on my Twitter account.  The logo has the outline of the state of Missouri because I concentrate on Missouri high school sports.  I have used the Gramps monicker for the past three years because that is who I am.  The scale with the basketballs and the magnifying glass are metaphors for mathematical ratings which are based upon head-to-head comparisons and comparative scores.

So, now that I have a logo, I need to get back to the endless computation of ratings from the boys and girls games that posted last weekend.  I post Boys' top 20 basketball ratings by class at @810Varsity on Tuesdays.  The Girl's ratings are posted every two weeks.  Both should be up on 810Varsity very soon.

Here's every MSHSAA sponsored boys team by class.... you won't find this anywhere, logo or no logo.  Classes four, five, and six are listed below class one, two, and three.
