Missouri Boys Basketball Class 4 ratings 12/19/2020

If anyone has any doubt about how to spell dynasty, you can look it up under V in the dictionary.  Just Google "Vashon High School", St. Louis, MO and you should find the word dynasty.  I noticed a few polls had Vashon as a second or third-rated team.  I know that Cardinal Ritter is outstanding but what would make anyone think Tony Irons would not have an outstanding squad again this year.   I watched a little of their game with small-school powerhouse, South Iron, and they left no doubt that they have speed, skills, leaping ability, and a high powered offense that features a full-court press.

I congratulate class one South Iron for coming into the Wolves building to play the best program in the state.  They did well for about 28 minutes, trailing 42-32, before the Wolves wore them out with their press, winning by 23, 72-49.  Expect great things from Vashon again this season.  No third place poll placement for them.

And the Wolves and Cardinal Ritter squads are not the only great teams in the city of St. Louis.  From what I have seen so far, Soldan and Miller Career can play with anyone.  I rate Soldan second and Miller Career 7th in the state.  That's the good news for Soldan and Career.  The bad news?  Both Soldan and Miller Career are in class four, district 4 with guess who?  Vashon.  So three of the best class 4 teams in the state right now are in the same district.  That may change but it will take about a month to see if anyone can rise to the task.  Soldan, Tolton, Miller Career, and Whitfield are class four teams that will take them on (schedule and predictions are below the class ratings).

Here's all 93 class four teams.  It's early but ratings are starting to solidify with each added game result.

Class 5 and 6 ratings are here:

A look at Vashon's schedule.  One of the toughest public school schedules.  Only St. Louis Christian's elite team is playing tougher opponents with their traveling show.  I am not aware of a game scheduled but it would be nice to see a Cardinal Ritter game in there sometime this winter.  Ritter will compete in class 5 vs. De Smet in the run-up to a state title.

Here's the schedule, opponent rating, and my predicted spread for each game.
